To hire a vehicle from CYPRUS CAR RENTAL you must be between the age of 23 and 75 years old and have at least one years driving experience and be in possession of a valid drivers license.

When you have found the car that you like, you can fill in the form online or e mail us with your dates, the place you will be staying, the place you wish the car to be delivered to or your pick up point.

We advise you to book early for the summer months or the Christmas period as there is often a shortage of cars during those busy periods. If you want a 7 seater car, they are especially sought after so please 'book early'.

When you have asked us for a quote or availability of the car of your choice, we will send you back an e mail with availability and the price, this is not a booking, to make a booking you need to reply to that e mail accepting the quote, we will then send you a firm booking with a reservation reference number, when you pick up the car or have it delivered to you, you will need to have a valid credit card in order to pay and will also be asked to produce your drivers licence and passport.

On most of the cars, comprehensive insurance and CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) is included. There is an excess which is non waivable - Car groups A to F is Cy£100 whilst higher groups is Cy£200.

To clarify the insurance that is offered, Neither comprehensive insurance nor CDW covers Fire or Theft, CDW. does not cover loss or damage to the vehicle or its parts or accessories caused by theft, attempted theft or vandalism.
This is not available as it is not within the experience of the companies here. No doubt the longer we have foreigners coming to Cyprus and youngsters who joyride, then the insurance companies will add this option, but for now it is not available. The bottom line is, lock the car when you are not using it, as long as you have shown due diligence it will not be your fault.

Additional damage waiver.
This covers the tyres, the windscreen and the oil sump, and is available at either Cy£ 2.00 or Cy£ 3.00 per day depending on the car category. A to F is Cy£ 2.00 whilst F2 to J is Cy£ 3.00


Drivers between 23 and 25 may be allowed rent cars but they cannot purchase insurance to cover the excess. Off road driving is not allowed.

You may add a spouse to your rental agreement as an added driver for free, otherwise an extra driver on your policy is charged at the rate of Cy£1.50 per driver per day.

Baby seats are available at Cy£1.50 per day per seat.

You are not permitted to carry more passengers for the classification of car than is stated in these pages. i.e. if it is a 7 seater car you are not allowed to squeeze 9 people in it. If you do, you will not be covered on the insurance.

Northern Cyprus: You may drive to the north through the border at your own risk. You will need to buy extra insurance at the border, but please be aware, you will not be covered by the insurance cover from the South, if you have a problem, it will be your responsibility to return the car to us, undamaged. We cannot come there to help you, you will need to arrange car recovery yourself. There has been some problems with the insurance cover offered in the North, please read the small print as we have had reports that the cover is inadequate.
